Day 90: Slumber party banter!

I'm typing today's blog post from Sarah's computer, in Banchory. Woop woop! It's party night, cause Dave's away, so the girls, and baby, get to play! Or...eat chinese take away, drink tea and watch Despicable Me. Haha. Good times.

I don't have my blog post template to hand so today's photo is missing the logo...but I can live with that! The 'wonderful thought' theme hasn't really continued...spending the evening with my sister and nephew is definitely a wonderful thought, but technically it's a reality...today's photo is more about showing life in the Morrison residence...basically a baby take over! Ha.

We're hopefully going out for a drive to somewhere amazing tomorrow. I specified I want somewhere with water, but really it doesn't matter. It's gonna be a fun day no matter where we go! Hope you're all having a good week :)

Day 89: Another wonderful thought...shame it's missing some models!

Today's wonderful thought popped in to my head after dinner...once again I was planning on making a cup of tea...it appears tea is my inspiration! I began to think about the day I get to set up a tea party in a photoshoot for one of my clients, infront of a great big window with lots of yummy daylight...it's gonna be SO much fun. And I decided to attempt to create the set up in my living room...turned out nae bad. And has made me even more excited and eager to get a proper shoot done! I'll need to go on the hunt for some cute wee models to include in the shoot. Another location I'd love to try it in is a very shallow stream with pretty wild flowers around it...I saw a photo of a similar shoot the other year. It was beautiful!

Day 88: A wonderful thought...

So my aunt and my sister gave me a few suggestions for 365 photo themes. My aunt suggested "things I love about Aberdeen"...I think I'd run out of things after I'd taken a photo of the seaside...Or taking a photo of what I'm doing each night at 7:15...Unfortunately the 7:15 project didn't work, as it was 7:45 before I noticed the time! Haha. And chances are, I'll be in front of my laptop every night around 7:45...and 7:15. And then my sister suggested taking photos of "Wonderful thoughts" each night that I can turn in to a collage at the end of the week, I've thought of doing something similar to that, like "Things I love Thursdays" which I've seen done before...but I wasn't sure how I was going to photograph what my wonderful thoughts were...

But as I walked through to the kitchen earlier (to put the kettle on...), and noticed that it was coming up to 8pm and it was STILL light outside(!), I found myself thinking of summer time...and visiting the seaside in the evening. Mmmm. And I saw some shells that we have sitting on the windowsill, so I decided to go get a jar of shells we have in the bathroom, and photograph them as a way of expressing my wonderful thought! I love the seaside. I want to live beside the seaside...or even ON the seaside...or better yet, in the sea. But that's getting a little bit far fetched.

I'm going to think through these ideas for future challenges...I'm sure there is more than one thing I love about Aberdeen...like...it has a Topshop...

Day 87: I love getting goodies in the post!

Isn't that just the cutest crate you've ever seen?! Haha. I'm pretty sure I only ordered it on Thursday...and it arrived in the post today! With my personalised lettering on the side :) Ooooh yes. I chose those words myself. Just be glad I didn't go with "Tea and Cakes", haha! I thought this would be much cuter for photoshoots...when I'm putting a baby inside it...hehe. I know many (but not all!) of you are thinking "Em...you're going to put a baby in that box?!"...I certainly hope to! Along with lots of cushions and a gorgeous quilt or blanket to make it super soft and cosy for the wee one :) I'm excited!!

I also received a couple other goodies I ordered in the post while we were away over the weekend; some bits and bobs to use when I'm photographing weddings! :D I love increasing my prop selection.

So, I've had a rather exciting day, and I hope you have too!

I wanted to ask you all for some suggestions about future challenges for me to do for my daily photo each week. I want to make sure I'm keeping the blog interesting, and actually showing some skilled photographs! So either leave a comment, or send me an email with some suggestions please :)

Day 86: Recovery

The plan was to go to a church in Dunfermline this morning before heading up the road...but since we didn't get back to the hotel till after 1am, and were losing an hour due to the clocks going forward, the thought of having a nice long lie was very appealing. However, Mum woke up early anyway, and having thought I was "already awake" she started speaking to me about not being sure what time we had to be out of the room...great. So I got up. It was maybe about 10am...but technically 9am. We ended up going to the church of Dobbies...ha...and got another cooked breakfast. Mmmm. The one we got yesterday was a pretty poor show in the end, but this mornings one was scrumptious. Set me up perfectly for the drive home.

And I love arriving home to a welcoming from this wee cutie. Who knows how many photos I've taken of him, and how many of my blog posts have mentioned him...but he's the perfect subject in my opinion! Ha.

Hope you've all had a fantastic weekend!

Day 85: A Beautiful Day!

So, today (...yesterday in real time, but we're in blog world right now...) was the day that Jenny Boyd and Craig Nicolson got married. And what a beautiful day it was! I was so so happy that Mother dearest and I were able to go down to Edinburgh and be a part of this special time, and you could tell from the massive smiles that everyone else was thinking the same thing (about them being there, not mother and I...). The ceremony was lovely, Jenny was absolutely gorgeous, and Craig scrubbed up alright...ho ho ho. Just kidding, he looked very handsome.

There were a few comedy comments from Mum throughout the day...starting with asking me which usher was standing in the aisle before the ceremony, I proceeded to tell her that was Craig, the groom. To be fair him and his brothers do look alike! And later on when we were looking at the table names as we went in for dinner, she was wondering who on earth "Puzz Mackenzie" was, when he was standing right behind her. We all had a good chuckle! And after lunch we had another good chuckle at the different speeches...there were a few hands covering faces at cringeworthy jokes. It was hilarious.

In the evening the dance floor was full basically the whole night, which is the perfect ending to a wedding! But the fun wasn't over yet, as the Bride and Groom exited the reception surrounded by their friends and family waving sparklers, and the releasing of 5 chinese lanterns in to the Edinburgh night sky. It was a pretty incredible day all in all!

Doesn't she look gorgeous!?

Friday 25 March 2011

Day 84: Theme fail!

As you can see...the above photos is not a sunset...it is a set...of cheeriness...does that count? Haha. Oh dear.

So yes, I went shopping today, with the beautiful Laura who I've not seen for a few weeks. I was supposed to meet her at 10...and when i woke at 9:34, in a panic, I didn't think that was going to happen, but...ok it didn't. But close enough! I managed to get myself up, showered, and out, with a banana in hand, in to town, drop off some advertising cards to Lynsey at church, and then get to Primark by 10:15. If you're not impressed by that, you should be!

I was on the hunt for a bag for the wedding tomorrow, and Laura was simply on the hunt for absolutely anything. Haha. Just kidding, she needed some things for New Zealand! Eeeek. Exciting. And when we were in New Look I decided to point out some hilarious heels (see above photo) I'd spotted the other day...the awful thing is...I quite like them! Haha. If the cream part wasn't made of a tweed material, they'd be wonderful. The turquoise part at the front is yummy. They're proper massive though...as you can see!! And Laura ended up trying on the pair in a different colour, as you can see! It was lots of fun!

Unfortunately, my hunt for a bag was a fail, and I ended up going back to the shops after driving Laura to Uni at 2. And Rachael was in town so came along to help me hunt. I hoped to only take an hour, so I could go home and sort out my stuff for the wedding tomorrow, but we ended up being like 3 hours! Finding a bag at the last minute. And I'm impressed to say that it fits my camera, and two camera lenses inside! Inside that amazing!? No, it's not a rucksack.

Right...Mum told me half an hour ago that we were leaving in half an hour...both of us are yet to pack our bags...and she's sitting here watching Come Dine With Me. Good times.

Right, have a good weekend everyone! Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait till Sunday for tomorrow's blog post, it's just not practical taking my laptop to a wedding and figuring out an internet connection...but I will have a photo! So it's not a fail...toodles!

Thursday 24 March 2011

Day 83: Productive day!

Today's sunset isn't so exciting. I was meeting Rachael at the shops to hunt for shoes for the wedding this Saturday, and so I went to the top floor of the carpark to catch the sun setting before I went in to the shops. Nae great like.

I've had a rather productive day. I watched like...3 or 4 episodes of 24 season 5...and then I took an online order to the post office to return it (sob), and then I went in to...3 different shops, and the cafe, in Westhill. They were really happy to take some of my advertising leaflets and business cards to put out on the counter. Amazing. And then I went home and had lunched (watched another 24 episode), and updated the homepage slideshow of my website. Then I attempted to get in to town for girls bible study but ended up getting stuck in traffic and being super late by the time I got through town, so just went to the shops earlier. Sorry ladies. I went in to Outfit to meet Rachael after she checked what hours she's working this weekend, and came out with a pair of shoes and a beautiful jersey dress. Good times! The shoes are black. I haven't owned a pair of black shoes since I was in school. So this is weird. But I like them! I bought a few other things at the shops after that, but shh, don't telly anyone.

And on the way home I decided I wanted a chipper...so I got one. After a wee trip to Tesco for some washing liquid, and a few other bits and bobs, and a humorous experience at the self service checkouts. The poor bloke on duty had to come over to me 3 times to beep his fancy card thingy. He was loving it I'm sure.

Ok, that is all. Guess what...in one hour...

It's Friiiday, it's Friiiday.
Gotta get down on Friday.
Everybody's looking forward to the weekend, weekend!

Wednesday 23 March 2011

Day 82: I''m quite enjoying this Sunset theme!

I went for a fair drive, and got stuck in a few queues of traffic, trying to find a good spot for my sunset photo. I had this spot in mind, but still went for a wee cruise around just in case it wasn't a good view of the sunset...but, in my opinion, it turned out to be a darn good view! I.Love.Water.

I've been catching up on the episodes of Home and Away that I haven't had the time to watch the last couple weeks (yes, I record them...). And I am seriously wanting to write in to the directors and script writers or whoever comes up with the plot. Right now it's driving me nuts. People don't have standards anymore, and I know it's just a TV programme, but the problem is, these things actually happen! Romeo (yes, he's called Romeo...) thought his girlfriend Indie was going to break up with him, so he slept with Ruby(he was a good boy up till then)...who's an incredibly immature little girl who has been in love with like 4 different blokes in the last half a year, and doesn't think about her actions. But of course, Indie wasn't planning on breaking up with him. He just didn't understand her cryptic messages. Oh.My.Life. I'm actually ranting about a TV programme. But I can't stop watching it...because I want to see the moment when Romeo and Indie sort everything out, and Ruby gets obsessed with some other bloke. I have a sad sad life.

No doubt this fascinating blog post will make me lose a few readers...I hope you're all having a good week!

Tuesday 22 March 2011

Day 81: Sunset Theme

The light from the sunset on my way home from work today was AMAZING. So I decided to head out to the country again and find a good spot for another sunset, and I plan to do that every day this week! It's my first 'themed' week. And I think I really must start doing that more often, as some days my photos on here are completely awful. Ha. I need to make it more structured, and more exciting! So I'm looking forward to carrying out this theme for the rest of the week :) No doubt tomorrow will be completely dark and overcast...but I'll just have to work with that.

I won't keep you much longer tonight, well, you can stay as long as you like! But last night's post was filled with many words, so tonight I want you to just enjoy the photos...my sister and her husband came to visit tonight, along with the most beautiful boy in the whole entire world...who can now go from sitting to standing while you hold his hands...the speed he's growing at is scaring me! And his cuteness will never cease to amaze me :) Ok, no more words!

Monday 21 March 2011

Day 80: Looking back on the weekend

I absolutely LOVE how beautiful, and warm, and yummy, and warm, it was here today. And the fact that as I drove home from work the sun was still high enough in the sky for me to be able to chase it further out in to the country and take the above photo. Love. Love. Love. It's incredible how we can forget what a warm bright evening feels like after the winter months! It's probably the warmest day we'll have all year though...it's apparently meant to 'sleet' on Friday. Woop!

Right, I still have a lot of sleep to do to fully recover from this weekend, so I'm gonna try be quick in going over what a fantastic weekend I had. It would be wrong of me to just graze past it (since blogging over the weekend was unsuccessful...) without a proper mention! I absolutely loved the whole weekend. This year is probably the most comfortable I've ever been just wandering around, and chatting away to people. And what a wonderful group of people they were. It's so encouraging seeing new faces each year, and familiar faces coming back again for more banter.

Our main speaker was Kenny Macleod, a minister in Carloway, which is on the Isle of Lewis, on the west coast, for those of you who don't have a clue (and shame on you for that!). I hadn't heard him preach on many occasions, but after this weekend I look forward to the next time I get to attend one of his sermons! I loved how personal his talks felt, like he was talking to each of us individually, instead of just at a group of people. Our topic for the weekend was the life of Joseph (the guy with the technicoloured dream coat), which is an excellent example of how life can be going in a direction that appears to have no positive outcome, and is incredibly hard to handle, but further down the path we realise it was all necessary for great things to happen! We need to remember to trust in the Lord, and remember that He'll never put us in a situation that we can't pull through. He's always there. He knows the plan. There is hope. We just have to trust, and let Him guide us through. And remember that things will happen in His time.

And then when things to start looking up for Joseph, life doesn't actually get easier...he has to resist temptation, and use the great power that God has given him, to His glory. So...life's not always easy, in good or bad times! But we know that the Lord's there to strengthen us, and we must ask for his help! Ask him to teach us, continually. We never get to a point where we stop learning.

Okay, I'm saying a lot...and cutting in to my sleep time! But I'm loving looking back over the past weekend! As well as the main talks, we had a variety of seminars to choose from at 3 points throughout the weekend. I attended God's Promises, Suffering, and Guidance. And what I've taken away from each of those seminars, in a nutshell (not literally), is that God is with us(always!), we don't always have the answer with regards to someones suffering, and it's ok to admit that if asked a question, but ultimately we have to remember that God is perfectly good, and he is sovereign! And that we shouldn't spend too much time worrying about what is the right direction to go in life, we will make mistakes, but these decisions are not universe changing...and God is with us...always, he knows what's going to happen, and he's ready to help us through it!

I have no idea how you guys are feeling after reading this, but I'm feeling pretty darn amazing after writing it. I hope I've done at least a half decent job at putting across the incredible things that we've been reassured with this weekend. It truly was a fantastic time.

And on a different note...when I got home from work this afternoon and walked in to the living room I saw this scene...
...it brought a smile to my face, as I pictured the most likely situation which would have occured yesterday afternoon...my 7 and a half month old nephew, sitting on the floor, sticking the frogs face in his mouth, while he waved a spatula...or vice versa. Either way, there no doubt would have been a lot of drool.

Sunday 20 March 2011

Day 79: A pretty good day!

A group of amazing individuals, brought together to learn more about God and be encouraged through His word, and the company of one another. I'm far too tired to talk about all of the fantastic things I've heard over this weekend, but hopefully I'll get the chance to do that tomorrow!

Day 78: Can't believe this is a day late!

I'm afraid there's no time for words right now, hopefully that'll come tomorrow!

Friday 18 March 2011

Day 77: I'm sitting next to someone pretty awesome right now...

...or not. I'm sitting next to Murdo Murchison. Woop! Woop! And I'm coming to you live from The Youth Conference 2011! Woohoo! Everyone's currently having supper, and I feel like a bit of a computer geek sitting here writing my blog post for the day. I'm secretly very excited that I'm connected to the Lendrick Muir wireless...woop!

I have to tell everyone how massively impressed I am with my girlies from the car journey today. Not only were they ready for me picking them up (perfectly on time, might I add), but they all packed lightly! I was so chuffed when everything slotted in to the boot perfectly. If it had been a game of tetris, everything would've disappeared and I would've got LOADS of points! Ha...yeup. I have a photo to prove this beautiful moment to you...
And I also attempted to take a photo of all the girlies in the car, but sadly Rachel and I are too massive to let anyone else in the photo! So then I took a photo of the 3 girls on their own in the back seat, but I'm not pleased with the quality of the photo, so it's not blog worthy.

I'm quite impressed with how early I'm posting this...I'm tempted to go bed in about 10 minutes...ha! I'm so tired. But no, I will attempt to stay up a bit longer with the youngins! Speak to you all tomorrow, when I will no doubt be even more tired than I am now. Toodles!

Bye from Murdo too.

Thursday 17 March 2011

Day 76: Sneak peak!

So today didn't go as smoothly as I'd have liked...I woke up with a migraine at 8am, and rather than getting up and out to work to print the handbooks, I had to go back to sleep to get rid of it! I got up 2 hours later, with the after effects still looming. Good times.

But, everything that needed to be done, got done! Apart from me finding a pair of boots...and shoes for the wedding next week...but they're not important...for now.

Ok, my head's not functioning properly. So I'll just put up today's photo, then go hang up my washing, and then go to my bed!
Aren't you guys lucky, getting a sneak peak at the handbook! Woop woop! See you tomorrow :D

Wednesday 16 March 2011

Day 75: I think I ran over a frog...:(

...I was close to tears! I seriously hope that he hopped out of the way...or that my tyre wasn't near him! I just thought it was a leaf at first...but then as I got closer I thought it's shape highly resembled a frog...lets hope it really was just a leaf. I didn't feel my tyre go thud...but really, how much impact can driving over a frog have on your car?! I expect it just went pop. Eew. It was a leaf. It.was.a.leaf.

My aunt Ruth is up from Glasgow for the night to go to meetings for work, so I picked her up from her hotel in town after work, and took her out to ours for chinese takeaway. Mmmmm! Sarah, Dave and Fin came over too, so we basically just sat and stared at Fin all evening. Ha. Nothing is more fascinating! And I drove Ruth back in to her hotel a wee while ago. It was a lovely wee visit! She wasn't too keen on being today's blog photo though...and I was tempted to carry out my joke of blurring out her face...but no! It's a lovely photo...
I was hoping to have a relaxing day shopping tomorrow...but unfortunately I don't think it's going to be very relaxing! I only managed to get 10 copies of the handbook out of the printer this evening, before I had to go get Ruth. So tomorrow morning I'll be nipping in to work to print out the remaining 90 odd! Then it'll probably be time to head in to the city centre for my eye test at 12:40. Woop! And then I'll hopefully manage to do a spot of shopping, before I have to go pick up Richard and drive him out to Aboyne (boing, boing, boing...) for his dentist appointment. I won't be setting foot in the dentist, of course. I'll sit outside with 10 bags of sweets in my lap, and a great big teeth baring grin on my face...ha.

I'd also like to check my tyre pressure before I fill my car up with girls, and their luggage, and drive to Lendrick Muir on Friday...so that'll be an amusing visit to the petrol station...and would be a great photo! I'll read my handbook first so that I actually know what I'm doing, and look like a pro! I may just leave it till Friday morning though...we'll see how it goes! I think I'll message the girlies and give them a weight restriction on the amount of luggage they're allowed to take...there needs to be room for my hairdryer...my camera...and my laptop, so I can do my blogpost on Saturday! Ha...I lead a sad life.

Better get to bed, to be sure I get up early(ish) tomorrow morning. I'm excited about shopping!! Hellooooooo Topshop.

P.S. It was totally a leaf...I'm tempted to go check...

Tuesday 15 March 2011

Day 74: Too tired to type

Today has been a non stop day, from waking up at 7am, right through till now. I didn't get my dinner till 9pm. I'm tired. And, thinking ahead to the weekend, I've decided that rather than spend ages writing my blog post, it's probably best to go to bed and get as much sleep as possible before Friday!! Then I can atleast attempt to stay up late with the cool kids...HA...yeah.

Monday 14 March 2011

Day 73: Ram for pudding...

I had a lovely evening tonight catching up with two of my college girlies, Rebecca, aka Ginger, and Rachael. Ginger had never been to Wagamama's before, and really wanted to try it, and these days I'm always up for some udon noodles!

I was super excited about telling Ginger she was going to feature in tonight's blog post, and I think she was super excited to be so lucky! Ha. She also got a lift in to town in JD, and got to hold Monkey! So she's having the time of her life tonight, haha. And I was loving her company; when we were in college she would always do something that would make me laugh, unintentionally. She's just so cute! And tonight she didn't fail me...the customers of Wagamama's were privileged to hear my extremely loud jolly laugh quite a lot in fact. Once when Ginger was attempting to snap her chopsticks apart...another time when she was sending a text and slyly checking her placemat to see how to spell Wagamama...and most definitely when we were looking at the dessert menu...

Rachael was getting quite excited, as we've never looked at the desserts there before, and when we spotted someone had cake we decided that we must have a look! "Mmm, Apple and yam crumble." she says..."Apple and SWEET yam crumble." I correct her. And at this point Ginger pipes up with "Is yam not a type of goat?..." (SUPER LOLSIES!) ..."Oh wait,no, that's a ram..."

I love that girl! And I'm super happy to present you with these beautiful photos...
She made a good effort with those chopsticks for her first visit! Amazingly enough she then proceeded to struggle with the fork...the udon noodles are pretty massive though to be fair. Ha.

Thank you ladies for a lovely evening, with good chat, a spot of shopping (we went to look at boots for me, and Rachael ended up buying a dress...story of her life!), yummy food and some comedy photos!

Sunday 13 March 2011

Day 72: I thought I was on day 80...

There aren't really any words to describe today's blog photo...sadly I'm related to 2 of the weirdos in it.

I took it as I was leaving Church tonight, after they'd requested I get the blog done nice and early...oops. I had taken another photo earlier today...but I thought it was possibly a bit mean of me to post it...it was a photo of a learner driver in the car in front of us on the way to church (I wasn't driving!), and they were swapping lanes last minute, not signalling, driving slowly...it was annoying. I was never like that! But I was being nice, and told Mum to give them some space. Ha!

So, the learner driver got off lucky, and is instead replaced by these attractive teenagers...
Love you guys! Have fun at school tomorrow...heh heh heh.

Saturday 12 March 2011

Day 71: It's Chriiiistmaaaaas...oh wait, no it's not, it's March!

I was going to say that today was JD's first snow...but technically, that's not true. It snowed on Tuesday morning too, and there was a thiiiiiin layer on my windscreen before I headed to work. But, today was JD's first drive in snow/slush...or jelly rain as I liked to call it today. He did a very good job! The road's weren't really that bad though to be honest...and hopefully it WILL be Christmas before he has to experience the proper stuff. Anyway, I'm babbling, so here he is this morning before we headed out for our drive...

And here are the ladies after our delicious meal last night, don't they look lovely :) They've made it on to the blog after all!
I hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Friday 11 March 2011

Day 70: Most definitely trying something new!

So...I dunno how to start today's blog post...knowing what today's photo is...and trying to think of how to explain WHY ON EARTH I took it. It's another self portrait...Since starting this blog I think I've taken more self portraits than I have my whole life...but this one is on a whole new level. Some of you...many of you probably won't even recognise me. Because it's not what I look like on a daily basis...or Ever. HA.

You see...it started when I was helping Rachael with her photo shoot on Tuesday night...we were going through her project sketchbook, looking at the research and ideas for what she was wanting to try with Laura during the photo shoot. And I absolutely loved this photo...

I joked about Rachael taking a photo of me like that...with my amazing modeling skills. HA. But, I really did want to try it...which is unusual for me...I don't often get the urge to be the model!...and look like a model, rather than 'taking the mickey'. Haha. As you can see it was going to require make up...and backcombing my hair...the hair backcombing thing I didn't mind! But the makeup...not my thing.

But...I actually went to Tesco this morning and bought eyeliner...and face wipes...I felt out extremely out of my comfort zone. And I had planned to buy lipstick too...but when I saw the price of it all I was like "Seriously?!!" So the eyeliner was enough. I'd rather buy pick n' mix.

When I got home again, I realised I was gonna need eyeshadow too...amazingly enough I had some in my drawer...couldn't tell you when I bought it...and apparently you're meant to throw your make up out every 6 months...well, it's definitely older than that! But oh well. I felt incredibly silly putting it on...but after a while I got the hang of it! Ha. It certainly didn't look as strong as the make up in the photo above...but it was enough for me!

I'm writing far too much about this. I didn't plan on talking about it this much...I haven't even gotten to the part where I was taking the photos! Taking self portraits is not easy. Getting the focus right...when my arm isn't long enough to reach the camera, and stay in position for the shot, isn't easy! Having to go back and forth to see what the photo looks like, is annoying. And trying to find a spot in the house that had the right light, really wasn't easy...I dunno how many times I moved.

I feel very silly talking about how much effort has gone in to this...when the final photo doesn't look anywhere near as good as the original! And I can't believe I'm actually about to post such a photo OF MYSELF out to the public...but here goes!

So...I have to go now, off to pick up some lovely ladies and then go out for a meal with lots of lovely ladies from Church. Should be a lovely evening! They'll be gutted that they're not going to be today's blog photo...aw no...I feel bad now. I'll post a photo of it tomorrow maybe :) I'm still wearing some of the make up...eek. Maybe I'll take a face wipe with me...haha.

P.S. Oh boy...I just looked at the two photos...what an awful attempt! I'm embarrassed...no going back now though...

Day 69: Tea or Tea?

I know, I know. My blog post is late again. Blame Emma Lipp. She'll be getting the blame for some other stuff too tonight...

I've had a rather productive and busy day...socialising, and getting bits and bobs sorted for the Youth Conference handbook. I had a lovely afternoon at the Worthington Residence, with Lynsey and Anya, then we headed to Girl's Bible Study. And my day was finished off with a visit to the Lipp residence, with Katherine and Isabel...for tea...or tea? Haha. You see, I had misread a message from Emma, and told Isabel that we would be getting FOOD during our visit, but what Emma had said was that we'd have tea...and me being someone who basically has tea injected in to her daily, should've realised this meant the drinking kind, not dinner. So, really, I can't blame Emma. It was my fault.

When we arrived, and Niall, Emma's husband, said he would "Go put the kettle on", I thought "Oh no...what've I done...". I had to confess. I didn't want Isabel going hungry! So I blurted out my misunderstanding...we laughed...thankfully...and I went and put Emma's oven on, and took a couple pizza's out of their freezer. Haha. We were given a feast! And tea. And even CAKE!!

Thanks for a lovely evening! I'm falling asleep as I type this so I better hurry up and click 'Publish Post'.

Day 68: Happy Anniversary!!

It's JD and I's one month Anniversary today :D It's so exciting. We went to the beach, went for a paddle, and got ice cream. It was beautiful....

Just kidding. But we did do a bit of driving to and fro for work again! And got some danish pastries from Costco...just as good!
We've done over 700 miles together...and I look forward to many more!

Can you spot Monkey?

This post has been a bit like one of those annoying pocket talking things that you push and someone like Mr T says one of his classic lines...if you get what I mean...

It's totally past my bedtime.

Day 67: College Flashback

Rachael had asked me yesterday if I would go in to college after work today and assist during a shoot for one of her projects. I was excited to be going back to the college studios. But then today she messaged me to say her model had cancelled on her...nooooooooooo!! Not good. I considered saying I'd do it...but I am seriously a rubbish model. Unless the project theme is "Lanky Blondes Making Stupid Faces". And instead, I semi jokingly offered up Laura's services, after her wonderful modeling at Crathes the other week. Rachael told me what she was hoping to try, so I asked Laura if she'd be up for it. And she totally was!! Hooray :) So I gave Rachael her number so they could chat...

Mean time, I was working/driving in to town to get crepes/going to the DVLA office to get something for a bosses car, but not actually having the right documents so having to go back to work...and then back to the DVLA office again. So I made 3 trips in to the centre of town today...and parked in the Gallowgate car park 3 times also! Good times.

I went to RGU to pick up Laura after work, then nipped to her flat, basically threw (did I get it right this time??) her wardrobe in a bag, grabbed some shoes(some YUMMY shoes) and drove up to the college. I got excited! And so did Monkey. It was so weird being back at college, and we had so much fun!! Laura was a very well behaved model. No funny faces...she was amazing! Such a cutie. And I got to wear super massive high yummy shoe boots. The fact that they were black has only just crossed my mind...I still like them. Weird. I'm probably gonna wear them every time I go visit her now...HA. Anyhoo, here's a behind the scenes photo from today :)...
Oh oh! You can see the yummy shoe boots!! Mmmm...good times. Isn't Laura a hotty too?! Haha.

JD and I drove the girls home once we'd finished up, then we nipped in to Tesco to top up my milk supply...I phoned Mum when I arrived to see if she needed anything, and and ask if there was something at home that I could make for dinner. She calmly informed me she'd already been to Tesco after work and so didn't need anything, and that there was tortellini I could have...and that I better be quick... "Why?...", I asked. "Because...Finlay is looking at me from across the room...", she replied! I don't think I've ever been in and round Tesco so quickly in my life.

Mum hid him in the corner when I got home so I couldn't see him...literally! You'd think he was a toy or something, just here for our entertainment...ha... Ok, so, don't worry, she didn't actually hide him in the actual corner...she just put him at her feet, so she was blocking him from view.

Oh he's such a cutie. Poor wee guys got a bit of a cold though :( Hope you feel better soon Squidger!

Day 66: I couldn't help but laugh...

...when I told Mum "I took a photo of my engine!" (That sentence probably isn't grammatically correct, but tough) I felt cool...and slightly manly. It was funny. And look how cute it is!! JD's a babe :)
Now, I wasn't just checkin out JD's engine, the bonnet was up for a practical reason. I needed to top up my screenwash! So when I got home from work I set out to find the lever to lift the bonnet...HA. I checked the drivers side, where the lever is in Mum's vauxhall, and then I checked the boot...and then I checked the passenger side. Why would you put the lever on the passenger's side?! Do they think I have a servant that sits beside me all the time, and does all my car related tasks for me? I'm not married. Ho ho ho. I told Mum all of this over dinner, and she asked if I'd looked at the handbook yet...HA. Good one Mum. That's when I told her about photographing the engine. Good times.

I have another exciting story, also to do with engines amazingly enough...

When I left the Rotech carpark after work, a boy on a scooter had just left the Dingbro carpark across the road and so I nipped in behind him...at the fantastic speed of 20mph. Which is fine, Whitemyres Avenue has quite a few areas with cars peeping out of carparks at any point. So slow speeds are good. But I was hoping that this boy wasn't going to go the way I was going...he did...but he merged with the traffic, and I had to wait for the next gap, so I forgot all about him. Until I past all the traffic lights on the langstracht, and I couldn't figure out why myself and the couple cars in front of me were only going at about 23mph...then I saw him. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE!! Chugging along like an old lady on one of those amazing mobile cart things. We managed to overtake him at the 50 zone, when there was a gap to go on to the right hand lane. Hooray!!! And he went out of my mind again...until I met the traffic on the dual carriageway...and something comes up the side of JD...rage. I admit I was jealous, couldn't believe he was going to beat me after all! But he went out of my mind again...HA. Until I was coming up to my turn off to the backroad to Westhill. There was someone about 100 yards ahead on the left lane, signalling right, going rather slowly, and waiting for cars to pass so they could cross to the right hand lane. I thought they had maybe just realised they needed to take my turn off too, so I kept an eye out...being all hazard alert n all! And then I spotted the boy...in the middle of the lane...going at the top speed of about 28mph. I lolled. And everyone was just trying to get past him. I'm glad I never got a scooter.

Good story huh.

Day 65: The Armour of God

I've wondered all day what I was gonna do my blog post on, and what my photo was gonna be. I didn't have my gorgeous nephew around to photograph this afternoon...so I was a little lost! Ha. But then while I was at Youth Fellowship after church, I decided exactly what I was going to do...

We've been talking about the Armour of God for a few weeks now. Ephesians 6 vs says "...put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand." And today we were talking about the shoes of the gospel of peace. Verses 14&15 say "Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."

Now, I can't do justice what we all learnt tonight, but I'll try my best to summarise it! When talking about armour, the footwear is probably not the first thing people would think about...perhaps they'd think of the parts that protect your head, and your heart first, but your feet are also very important! They're what give us a firm stance. And what could be better than a pair of shoes made out of the Gospel of Peace?! Having it as our grip in lifes daily battles, knowing that we're walking with God's amazing news, that if we believe and trust that his Son died for us, to forgive our sins, we are all promised everlasting peace through his way of life. And we should never take those shoes off! Never think "Okay, I want a wee break from these...I'll let my feet get some air..." Cause you'll just end up stumbling, and wishing you'd never taken them off!

This all made me think about what I do when I come home at the end of the day...go upstairs and kick off my shoes at the end of my bed...and I thought it was very relevant! Ha...there's quite a few pairs there now, I should really put them away...but not my pair made of the Gospel of Peace, of course!
Woaw it's late, I hope that all made sense! And on a side note, you'll see that it's Day 65...which means I only have 300 more days to go!! Woop woop!

Have a good week everyone :)

Day 64: Wedding Crasher

I was at the wedding of Gemma and John Dale today at Thainstone House Assisting Diane in any way I could, as she was their official photographer, and just watching how she works. Weddings are a massive massive job as a photographer, and it's something I cannot wait to be fully confident doing, right now I have much to learn! So it was excellent being Diane's shadow today, and taking a few snaps of my own.

As well as looking incredibly beautiful, and handsome, the bride and groom were absolutely lovely! The atmosphere between them and Diane was so relaxed, because she's not just like "Stand here..." "Move there...", she has great communication with her subjects and there was a lot of laughter! Which is exactly what you want when someone's taking your wedding photos! It's not supposed to be a chore. It's meant to be enjoyable. And I dunno how many times I was laughing today during the bridal preps, group shots, and then the speeches. It was an excellent day, and the weather was perfect!

I haven't had the chance to properly look over the photos I took, and just choose one and processed it quickly on Photoshop...I like it because it's super cute. But the detail in the brides dress is completely blown out and it could just be better in general...Ha. I'll hopefully get a few more processed properly next week...after I've finished up the photos of Laura...and updating the website...and doing what I need to do for the Youth Conference(which is now 2 weeks away!).
It was so so good watching Diane at work today, and I really can't wait to get stuck in to the weddings I'm doing this year! Eeeek. It's so exciting!!

Day 63: Missing the party...

The 'Family Night' is happening at Church right now, as I type this...from my living room. I was so looking forward to going! I had high plans of baking cupcakes, and going to Tesco to buy drinks and some more goodies to bring along...but then I remembered that Mum left our scales at Church a couple weeks ago and keeps forgetting to take them home! So I thought I'd attempt to make my own scales...but couldn't find any suitable apparatus. Then I thought about borrowing scales from one of the lovely ladies from the congregation. But by the time I found the number, I had started feeling really really tired. So I sat down to have my lunch and watched an episode of CSI...then had a nap! I rarely ever nap. When I woke up I still didn't feel right, and it was half 5 by the point...I was meant to be arriving at church at 6 to help set up. So I had my dinner and hoped I'd pick up after that. But no. I just want to sleep! Ha.

I had a very productive morning; finally typing out my price list for portrait sessions!! Hooray! And I put a link to it on my website!! Hooray! And I updated the photos in one of the galleries!! Hooray! But there's still lots to do. I'll be an amazing business woman by the time I'm 30, I'm sure. Here's a couple snaps of the website and my rates design...

It would've been far more exciting to have a photo from the Family Night as today's blog post :( But at least this way I can get off to bed early, and have a good night's sleep ready for tomorrow...My lovely friend Diane is photographing a wedding at Thainstone, and she's letting me join her to get some experience. I'm so excited!! Thainstone is such a beautiful hotel, and we're gonna be there right from the start, as the bride gets ready. Yipee!

Diane was on my course at college, we've got a similar style of photography, but she's leagues ahead of me with her business! Ha. So I'm really looking forward to catching up with her tomorrow, and spending the day doing what we love!

Day 62: We're gonna look back on this one and 'lol'...or cringe.

Ok, so today's blog is another super late one...and technically, it's yesterday's blog. But whatever, I haven't slept yet, so it's still Thursday. Oh dear...I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those posts that makes no sense...with sentences that don't...make sense. Yeah...

Today was a packed to the brim day...filled with a fun late christmas present, childhood sweetie flashbacks, exciting packages in the post, changed plans, extended visits, and a spot of spotaneity...all adding up to the rather unattractive photo above. Ha. We had much hilarity. Laughter is a good de-stresser.

I was at work FOUR DAYS this week. Woaw. First time in a long time that I've worked four whole days. It was strange...but productive, obvs.

Em...I don't know what else to say...I could say lots...but I won't. It's too late to make sense of it. I didn't get home till about 11:50, but since I hadn't had the chance to after work as I was going out to babysit for a bit, I opened up my goodies that the mail man gave me...

I plan on using my beautiful new whiteboard to organise my business related stuff, no excuses now! Althought my picture's kinda pretty...dunno if I wanna rub it off just yet...and the things at the bottom of the image are my amazing flashback sweets...RING POP'S!! And a packet of Weirds...technically I used to have Nerds, but same thing...but not really. And my comedy late Christmas present, which I have yet to have to the chance to try out properly. That's tomorrow's job...or today's job technically...and on that note, I shall finish!

Wednesday 2 March 2011

Day 61: Happy days!

Today, I am very happy. That's really all that needs to be said...and now I'm going to my bed!

Ok, so I actually CAN'T bring myself to publish this post with just one sentence in it...I actually cannot do it...I feel like I'd be letting you all down...even though this is supposed to be a photo project!! The plan wasn't to tell everyone all about my day, every day, and throw in a comedy photo. But that seems to be what happens. Ha.

So...I'm very happy today, as I've said...and I hope that seeing that photo has put a smile on your face, or made you laugh, and so, in turn, made you happy today too! :) Toodles!

P.S. I didn't cut off my eyes on purpose...I'm just not a very good photographer...

Day 60: What a girl needs...

I think about my blog photo far.too.much. each day. This morning when I got up for work I thought "It's SO yummy and sunny outside...I could take a photo out the window for the blog!" And I did, but it just didn't express how lovely it was. Scrapped that idea. Then once I was ready for work I thought "Oh, I like my outfit today...I could take a photo of it for the blog!" And I did, but it just didn't express how amazing my outfit was! (HA...it actually wasn't that amazing) Scrapped that idea. While I was at work I thought "Wowee, my keyboard looks pretty darn snazzy, I could take a photo for the blog!" Just kidding, that would just be sad. There wasn't actually any point at work that I wanted to take a photo of. But it was on my mind!  And then when I was leaving work, and walking towards JD, I realised he had been attacked by seagull poop, and thought "JD's first seagull poop! I could take a photo for the blog!" Don't worry, I didn't. Cause I instantly realised how disgusting that would be. Bleugh. So yes, this blog has taken over my life...Ha.

After cleaning off the seagull poop, which thankfully was just on my windscreen, so after a few scooshes of the screen wash JD was all clean again, I was listening to Radio 1 on the drive home. Scott Mills was talking to his friend Chris, who apparently has no life, about what he was planning on doing tonight. Which was go round to his friends, eat curry, and play FIFA. Now, the FIFA thing didn't tempt me, not surprisingly, but the curry thing did, which is VERY surprising. It's not often I crave a curry...in fact, it's very very...very rare. But when Mum phoned from work asking what I fancied doing for dinner I suggested takeaway! Thankfully this idea was tempting to Mum. Woop! Technically what I had can't really be classed as a REAL curry. It was sweet and delicious, and not one tiny bit spicy. Mmmmm. And the pashwari naan was a wonderful extra. Sooo gooood!

And before I went to pick up the takeaway I popped to Tesco and bought some essentials...milk, de-icer and a pathetic wee scraper for JD :) He's very excited. But hopes he doesn't need to use them very often!
