As you may remember, I had the cold a few weeks back, along with several other family members and friends, and have had a cough ever since, which is going away gradually now, but for a couple weeks it was pretty much ruining my appetite...which had a positive effect on the scales, and I ended up losing half a stone in weight. Can't complain. It's probably all piled back on now as this morning I had a sausage roll for breakfast, and then there were mini hotdogs needing eaten at home so I had them for my lunch...and I've got a tub full of cookies needing eaten now too after doing some baking yesterday. Oh well...there's still room for cake, that'll never change.

Tuesday was a beautiful day :) I nipped along to Loch Skene at sunset hoping to get a nice photo for the blog and was very happy to see people out sailing! It was a really lovely evening for it so I was quite jealous. I could also hear children cheering in excitement in the distance, and when I looked over I saw a group of people on a wee speed boat, spinning about and bumping over the wake, they were having a great time! It was a nice end to a good day :)

112/365

This is my first ever Candlelit Bench Monday...looks like I've gone out exploring the wilderness...in my cranberry trousers and pink brogues...but it's just the back garden. I hadn't got round to doing a Bench Monday photo, after spending the day at my computer and then meeting one of my 2014 couples for coffee in the evening, so I grabbed a bunch of tea lights from our cupboard, laid them out on the stones and cranked up my ISO. Otherwise I would have had to stand still for a minute or two to get a bright enough exposure...and my balance isn't that good when I'm bending over on the edge of a bench...

111/365

Can you believe this little girly is 6 months old now?! It's crazy. And what's even more crazy is that I didn't see her for a whole month! So when I saw her this past weekend she looked extra big, chubby, and beautiful :) I couldn't resist taking a few photos of her in the adorable baby tutu I have. Look at her sitting up by herself...she's getting so big!

Fin LOVES to help with the baking! All because he knows what goodies come from it :) Here he is helping Mum with her pavlova *must be said in Australian accent* for the WFM Fundraiser night at Church on Saturday. He spent a good 15 minutes licking the whisk, making sure he got all the sugary goodness his wee tongue/cheek/nose/finger could reach. When he was finished I do believe he said "I want bowl"...but his Auntie had beat him to that one. My bad.

Just me...chillin' with the boats, pretending I'm part of the sailor posse.

I had a nice wee trip up to Nairn today for an Engagement Shoot in the afternoon and then headed back to Aberdeen for a Bad Taste Photography Night with our Teens at Church. A poor effort by some for their Bad Taste outfits, but others made up for it. I had hoped to get to a charity shop for some hideous attire at some point in the week but unfortunately didn't get the chance, so instead I wore garments from my own wardrobe...floral trousers matched beautifully with a moustache print jumper...there were accessories also, but when I saw the Teens hadn't pushed the boat out, I gave the accessories a miss.

108/365

I spent part of Thursday night making a few felt props with a friend for future Photobooth banter...so much fun! I am seriously in love with the leopard print glasses, I wish I had a real pair.

107/365

I had a thoroughly enjoyable wee trip to Stonehaven for some chips on Wednesday afternoon/evening :) It was an absolutely horrible day weather wise, but the rain took a short break which allowed us to have a nice stroll along the boardwalk to the pier to check out the boats. Yay, boats! And we got back to the car just in time for the rain to start again...it was a rather silly day to choose to go considering the rest of the week was beautiful sunshine...but despite the fog, rain, wind...etc., it was a lovely afternoon :)

This amazing man sized cardboard cut out is up in Cineworld at the moment...I was gonna say 50 points if you can tell me what film it's for, but the name is actually visible somewhere in the photo, so you only get 50 points if you could tell straight away!

I can't wait till it's out in the cinema, sequel's can often be a let down (not like Die Hard), but the advert for this made me 'lol' so it should be a good-ee!

I was at the cinema that night with Rachael to see Oblivion...there isn't much to say about it really. Tom Cruise is an attractive man, who likes to do stunts and ride motorbikes. That is all.

It was so nice to nip out at sunset for today's Bench Monday shot...I love, love, love brighter evening's, the smell that's in the air at the end of a beautiful, warm, sunny day, and hearing the soft sound of water flowing by. It all brings a smile to my face :) Please can the weather stay like this from now on!

104/365

I am very proud to announce that yesterday I successfully reached chapter two of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, after at least 4 attempts of reading it. A few pages after this photo was taken I put the book down and proceeded to have a nap...so I still haven't actually got that much further than previous attempts, but it's something!

103/365

We had a Neighbourhood Fellowship get together on Saturday night and it was little Peter's 7th Birthday the next day so Norman brought the most incredible, ginormous, scrumptious, chocolatey cake . Yum! Cake is a wonderful thing. The company for the evening was even more wonderful! I love it when we can all spend the evening together like that.

102/365

I always head to Hobby Craft with a selection of goodies in mind that I plan to buy for whatever random craft task I have...but 90% of the time, when I get there, I realise I really don't need any of it, and walk out empty handed. Good Story, huh? And 100% of the time I see lots of wonderful things that I wish I had the money to buy, and the time to have fun with...like baking goodies!

I don't remember ever seeing so many leaves from the previous Autumn on the ground in Spring...I'm pleased to say I did see little buds on these trees as I was leaving the forest, so there are signs of life coming back :) We just need to be patient...

100/365

Is this seriously my 100th photo of the year?! The year is going by crazy fast. Crazy. Fast.

I met my friend Diane for a coffee catch up at lunchtime today, and seeing as I had half an hour left on my parking ticket I nipped to some shops...I do love a bargain! And stripes...I really should live on a boat. Sadly the shape of the red dress with the Peter Pan collar didn't suit me so it went back on the rack.

I was only out for a few hours, but it felt like a whole lot longer; this cold is getting rather frustrating! So I'm currently on the sofa, continuing the Harry Potter Marathon I started the other day. Cedric Diggory's about to turn in to a Vampire...oh, sorry, wrong movie...

Dinner date with some of the girlies :)

Happy Bench Monday :)

I made a wee trip to Castle Fraser this evening for a pretty woodland Bench Monday. It actually looks like an Autumn scene not Spring (apart from the lovely tulips which I stole from the vase in our hallway)...and then it turned in to winter; I ended up getting caught in a snow shower/polystyrene ball attack...Probably not the best thing to do when you have a cold...

97/365

The beautiful ladies I spent the day with yesterday :) We were out playing Frisbee with the lads for a wee bit in the afternoon, on a horrible muddy playing field, hence why Cassia is holding her hand up to the camera; to show how dirty our hands were getting. You can kind of see it if you look close...ha.

It got me craving some Frisbee on the beach! Hopefully it'll stop snowing soon and spring/summer will finally come along and we can do a few spontaneous Frisbee adventures :)

96/365

Look, more crocuses! Or croci...and a Cassia! And sunshine! Okay, I'll calm down a bit...

I had an Engagement Shoot near St Andrews on Saturday so I took Cassia along for a wee road trip :) We enjoyed a stroll through St Andrews, and eating lunch down at the beach, before heading along to Cambo House to meet one of my summer couples for their shoot :) I had Cassia posing for me in various spots in town, while we were being tourists, and then out at Cambo House while we did a walkabout to find some nice spots, so it was hard to choose a photo for today!

Cambo House Esate is absolutely gorgeous! Another favourite location, hopefully I'll be back there one day :)

I didn't leave the house today, not even for a second. I thought about venturing out at sunset, but the sky was dark and grey, so not worth it! Instead I tried out a wee close up shot of my ring. Aint it pretty? Mum bought it for me years ago, from a random wee shop in Aboyne, and I'm pretty sure it cost lest than a tenner...not far off that, anyway, it was a bargain! Hopefully I'll still be wearing it in 50 years time :)

Still full of the cold, but today there was a bit of variation as I also had a migraine! But tomorrow I'm gonna man up cause I'm going to St Andrews for an Engagement shoot :) I love my job!

I've been loving watching the snow slowly disappear from our garden this past week, as we've had more sunshine, and the days have been longer. It all makes me very happy! I'll be even happier when spring is really in full bloom, and there are flowers EVERYWHERE, not just a wee scatter, underneath a street sign at the edge of the village...

93/365

Day 3 of having the cold...I so wish I'd been able to smell these yummy candles at Neighbourhood Fellowship tonight. But hooray for actually being able to go out somewhere! I've had to cancel social engagements the last couple evenings which has disappointed me greatly, so it was great going out this evening. I even gave the others the luxury of listening to my dulcet tones while doing a short bible reading...and when I say dulcet tones I mean major nasal voice. So lovely to hear, I'm sure.

Day 2 of having the cold...I woke up feeling better, but sounding much worse, and using up just as many tissues as yesterday, so I went back to my spot on the sofa to get on with work. While listening to the epic radio station that is Magic FM (Oh yes!), the classic Aerosmith song I Don't Want To Miss A Thing came on and gave me a craving for Armageddon...the fact that Bruce Willis is in it means that I own it on DVD, hooray!

It's a good thing I already had a box of tissues beside me as I was welling up on a few different occasions, and most definitely when Brucey dies. What a hero.

Monday 1 April 2013

91/365

So...this is what my day has looked like...apart from I've been stretched out on the sofa, not standing up, and a few more tissues, and some TV remotes, have been added to the pile. I have a rather lovely head cold...and when I say lovely I mean disgusting.

It's been torture, sat facing the window all day, seeing such a beautiful day outside! I'm hoping this doesn't stick around for much longer...perhaps if I think positively it'll be gone by tomorrow.

90/365

I met this little cutie for the first time on Sunday :) Her beautiful mother moved from Aberdeen to Peru about 2 and a half years ago, to marry the man she loved, then Ruth Miriam Rios was born about 15 months ago and most of us here in Scotland hadn't seen MC since she left, or met her husband Erick and wee Ruthie. So it was super lovely to have them all with us yesterday!

It's weird how the only time I forget to fill up JD's fuel tank is when I am driving over the Lecht! There are a few petrol stations along the way, in random wee spots, but I've usually passed them before I remember, or it's late in the evening so they're already closed! I am pleased to say that every time I've made it home/to Inverness with between 20-30 miles left in the tank, apparently.

But anyway, this is a quick snap I took just beyond the Ski Centre on my way back home on Saturday night :) I love driving over the Lecht during the Golden Hour!

88/365

Today was wedding day, but I give my clients the choice of putting their photos on the blog/facebook, and some of them like to keep them all to themselves :) So instead you're getting a photo I took when I got back to my aunt and uncles that night, after I made a cup of tea and washed the sand off my feet :) I walked down to the spare room to see the backroom being lit by just these pretty fairy lights, and you all know how much I like fairy lights!

87/365

I had a great time at Haddo House on Thursday morning, with Caroline and Duncan, and their two little cuties, Lily and Struan, feeding the ducks...and the rather friendly geese, and swans...haha. They were following us all over the place, sneaking up behind me, and kind of getting in the way of some of their family portraits.

This was Duncan trying to show them that we had no bread left for them, but it actually looks like he wants a hug! Haha.
