Day 120: The Bain Girlies

We had a pretty busy, jam packed day today. Swimming at 9am, turns out Fin finds blowing bubbles in water absolutely HILARIOUS. The lifeguards were lovin' it. No chip butties afterwards, unfortunately, because they don't serve them till 12 o'clock...what's with that?! But then Auntie Anne saved the day by making croissants and bacon back at hers.
Then we headed in to town for a quick nip around some shops...possibly Topshop.
Then we headed over to Aunt Ruth's, and Dave, Sarah, Fin and Aunt Anne said a quick hello before heading to the park, while Ruth, Donald, Abigail and I headed to his brother's house so I could photograph the super cute girls in the photos above. We took a few photos in the back garden, taking advantage of the beautiful sunshine. I wish the weather was like this all year round!
Then Ruth dropped me off at IKEA, where I met back up with the others, and finally got my chips.
Then back to GG and GG's for dinner, and we're now watching Indiana Jones...Harrison Ford is currently pretending to be a Scotsman, good times.

Day 119: Finlay's first visit to Glasgow!

I'm having to use Grampa's stone slab, and chisel to do today's blogpost, as we have no idea what his internet password is. His laptop isn't actually too bad...just makes a lot of noise...quite similar to being in a plane. Anyhoo! Sarah, Dave, Fin and I drove down to Glasgow this afternoon, after that massive event that took place this morning. Nice dress, that's all I'm saying. And we had some great banter in the car, before Fin fell asleep, and then a lovely time with GG and GG, before they headed out for dinner. Dave has a gig in some pub on Byre's road tonight, so he went out for his sound check rather soon after we arrived, and Rhona came over to join us for dinner :) As you can see in the above photo!

Right, I'm not really saying anything exciting! Ha. And I'm being anti social, since Grampa's laptop is out in the hall...and it stays out in the hall...so could really be a computer. But it's not, it's a laptop...with a cover over the touchpad and a mouse attached...Good story.

Check back tomorrow to hear about our exciting adventures at the swimming pool, shop, and maybe even IKEA!!

Day 118: Dinner and a movie

Rachael and I tried out the new TGI Friday's at Union Sq. tonight. I should've asked them not to put mayonnaise on my chicken burger. But apart from that it was good! We got a "window seat", so got to spy on people, and chat to the lovely Mr and Mrs Smith when they walked past. That's Donald and Anne Smith, not Brad and Angelina. Ha.

But that wasn't all the excitement for the evening...we then went to see the new Fast and Furious film. Oh.My.Life. I know basically nothing about cars, just that I like fast ones, preferably blue. And Paul Walker. So all in all, Fast and Furious is a win. And this new one didn't disappoint! Well, maybe a teeny tiny bit. There could've been a little bit more driving. But I'll most definitely be watching it again. Mmmmm.

And I got pick n mix. So I'm a happy lady! Now, I best be off. Kate's bridal preps start early so I need to get myself down to London sharp, still have to pack my camera gear!

Day 117: Detours and messy living rooms...

When I was driving home from work tonight, I fancied a wee trip in to Countesswells Forest to try out a photo of the evening light through the trees...rather happy with the results! I love it when a 10 minute plan comes together. Haha. Tempted to get them printed big on canvas and take them to the IKEA bosses...Lolsies. Or just put them on my wall!

JD loves a forest detour...

I set up my backdrop stand in the living room tonight, and threw a throw over it, since I don't have any backdrops yet. The poles that make up the width of the stand are preeeeetty long...there are 3 of them, and I thought it was possible to just put two together, but no...they don't fasten together properly without the third...but with the third one attached they probably make the stand about 12ft wide...a tad too big for practical use in my living room. So, I just put two together unsecured...it's fine as long as you dont try to move the stands on either side. Ha. I'll figure something out. Anyway, here's a random photo of me from the set up...
I did take a photo of the set up to post on here too...but my living room is a complete tip, so I had far too much fun drawing a diagram instead...
Pretty basic stuff really.

Tuesday 26 April 2011

Day 116: It's all coming together...

My backdrop stand arrived in the post today :D I've not had the chance to put it up yet, but hopefully tomorrow night I'll get a wee studio set up going on in the living room. I'm excited!! In the last few weeks I've photographed my first ever wedding, had my first ever unknown client, and my portable studio is expanding! I feel like the business is progressing nicely :) There's still SO much to do...I've not been to any of those Business Gateway workshops I talked about...oh my lifey, that was 4 months ago! Where has the time gone?! And have I really been blogging every day for 4 months?! You're not fed up yet? Good job. I'm impressed.

So anyway, I popped in to Dunhelm Mill tonight, to check out their fabrics. Exciting! I don't want to have crisp white backgrounds in my portraits, if I am in a situation where I can't be outside using natural light; I want something a bit more eye catching, and colourful! The background will be out of focus, and the pattern and colour will give the portraits more depth, and they'll be more yummy looking, hopefully.

So here's a few snaps of the fabric stacks in Dunhelm mill...lots of pretty spots to choose from...don't think clients'll be too keen on the teacups and cupcakes fabric...but that's just for me! Well, I haven't bought them yet, as I had 10 minutes till closing, and that definitely wasn't enough time for the amount of fabrics I wanted to buy!...oh, and you can't beat a wee drive by the beach after shopping...
JD loves a sunset...and I love JD. It's a shame that love doesn't extend to purchasing a bucket and sponge, and pulling the hoover out to the driveway. If only he could swim.

Monday 25 April 2011

Day 115: Bench Monday

No head chopping today. Just me, taking a break from editing photos, with some essentials at hand.

Day 114: Happy Easter Sunday!

I hope you all enjoyed your chocolate today...but the real reason for today is way better than chocolate! In fact, it's even better than tea! CreyC, I know. Today is actually all about the amazing moment that Jesus came to life again. He rose from the grave, 3 days after unimaginable suffering and death on the cross, for OUR sins! Through his death and resurrection, we are given new life and hope, forgiven of all our sins. There are no words that describe how truly wonderful this is. And it's important for us to remember, and tell others, this wonderful fact!

I am so tired right now, I totally didn't realise the time! It's been such a good day, spent with many lovely people, eating fantastic food, and remembering our Lord. We finished the day at Isabel's flat, as she's finished her course and heading back home, to the Island, on Tuesday...but it's not goodbye! Because we'll see her again soon. She won't be able to stay away forever. I managed to get everyone to squeeze in for a group photo before leaving...
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ ” Luke 24:5-7

Day 113: "It was just so emotional!"

True words from Katherine Sced right there. What.A.Day. Spectating is a tough job, let me tell you! Haha. Just kidding. I am so so proud of these guys! Each of them took part in either the 1.5k, 2.5k, 5k, or 10k races, and raised money for the incredibly worthy cause, LoveOliver. They were amazing! And Stewart won the 1.5k race!! Which was the beginning of the emotional roller coaster for Katherine..."Emotional" became the word of the day. And too right!

Please, please, please have a look at the LoveOliver website, it will introduce you to the life of a wonderful little boy, who brought a lot of joy in to so many people's lives in his short time with us, and show you the good that continues to come from his life.

Well done to everybody who ran today!

Friday 22 April 2011

Day 112: Jam packed day!

Today, has been a busy day! I was finishing off Elizabeth and Andrew's wedding photos, then photographing two very cute, and slightly mischievous little boys, then back to finishing off wedding photos. But in amongst all that, Fin was at the house!
I was incredibly well restrained, and managed to get on with my work for the most part. Sarah and Dave went out in the car to practice manoeuvres, leaving us to babysit. No complaints there! But I was out most of the time they were out too, so Granny did the job.
I got my turn later on, however, when they all popped out to Costco, and left me with the cutest creation known to man. We had fun with his keyboard and microphone, and then playing with dolphins in the bath. Meantime, Sarah was sending me picture messages of all the amazing paddling pools/mini water parks that are in Costco right now. Deffo buying the mini water park.

I took the above photo just before heading out for my photoshoot. Gotta love a baby in a washing basket!

Thursday 21 April 2011

Day 111: Thank you Amazon

I wanted to buy a reflector, Jessops only had a 10" one, for a tenner, I think...but it was gonna cost money for delivery, and take about a week to get here! So I went on Amazon...and decided to go wild and get a 42" one, for £17 I think. Free delivery and it came 2 days later. I love Amazon.

I wanted to show what a reflector can do, but I wasn't in the mood to model, so monkey's cousin, monkey, got to pose. You're probably looking at the two photos and thinking "What difference is there??"...well, it's subtle, but there is a difference! The reflector is a 5 in 1. The cover unzips, and can be reversed to either white+gold reflectors, or silver reflector and a black...to suck up some light if you want. And you can remove the cover completely to reveal a diffuser, which is helpful if (shock horror) the sun is in full view and causing awful eye squinting, and super dark shadows, and you need to soften it up a little :)

I used the white reflector on monkey, as the others are quite full on. The light is coming in through a window on my left, and the reflector is sitting on the right...to bounce some of the natural light on to the shaded side of monkey. It's not a great way of showing what a massive difference a reflector can do...but it's a cute photo! Haha.

I love natural light.

Wednesday 20 April 2011

Day 110: Caught in the moment...

Today's photo doesn't have any skill behind it whatsoever, just like yesterday's...ha. It simply shows you what is infront of me right now...lots of beautiful wedding photos that I'm trying to get ready to put up on the website this week for Andrew and Elizabeth Stewart. Those silly headaches have put me back a few days unfortunately. But it's all good, because really, there's not that much to do, there's just a lot of them. Ha.

Yes there's a bag of prawn crackers behind my laptop...yum!

Tuesday 19 April 2011

Day 109: Can you tell I'm excited?

I probably shouldn't get so excited about this super amazing give away by Crave Photography, considering the chances of me winning are incredibly incredibly slim. I just couldn't believe that this opportunity was being made available! Over the past year I've totally fallen in love with so many photographers over in the US, which many of you will have seen through Facebook...ha. And I've often thought about how amazing it would be to go over there and meet some of them. What an experience it would be! But I've not yet been brave enough to take my idea seriously and get in touch with any of them, or look in to it properly. So I couldn't believe it when I saw this giveaway. It's by the same fantastic photographer that I stayed up from 1am to 5am doing the online mentoring session with. Just think what I could learn in TWO DAYS, WITH SLEEP!

Even though the chances are slim...there's still a chance! So for now, I'm staying hopeful!!

Day 106: What a discovery!

Say hello to Haddo House (and Sarah)! Why on why have we never been there before?! It.Is.Incredible. Who needs to visit England for swish houses from Pride and Prejudice. This one has beautiful doors (oh yes), big curved steps, a fountain, long pathways lined with trees or flowers, and a MASSIVE lake. Which we didn't discover the location of until we looked at the map, on the way out. Therefore, we are most definitely going back! When you look at the size of the lake on the map, scaled with the size of the house....it's like Russia compared to Great Britain. I WANT TO OWN THIS HOUSE. I would most definitely also own a boat.

Sarah and Dave, and Fin, of course, were only going to come over for lunch, and then go out somewhere, since I was still suffering from the after effects of the migraine. Or what I like to call "The Fear" - scared to go on the laptop, scared to eat certain things, not wanting to go out, in case another one came! But by 3 we decided to go out for a drive in the car, and Sarah googled different places we could go...I'm super glad we decided to go to Haddo House. And that I didn't just stay in the car, once we arrived at the car park and realised we had to get out and walk a bit rather than driving straight up in front of the house.

AND we saw an absolute beauty of a dog, so so adorable. Our hands did reek a little bit after giving him pet. Thanks to the wonderful world of google, I've discovered what it's called...Dogue de Bordeaux. Amazing. I'm either getting a pug...or one of them. Ha.

Day 105: Out of the blue

I couldn't believe it when my eye started going blurry last night while I was editing photos. And the weird thing is, I had JUST been speaking to someone about them, what can cause them etc. So if my brain was like "Oh, migraines, yeah...she's not had one of those for a month or two now...aye, let's go for it!", then I'm very annoyed with it. I went to take the last of the 3 rizatriptan pills, or whatever they're called, that the doctor had given me. The other 2 went to waste as I took them during the nausea stage...yeup. But I hadn't got to that part yet so I thought "Yay! Let's see if they work!" And I had a wee lie down, must've fallen asleep for a little bit, and when I woke up...I wasn't feeling nauseous! Score! But, my skull felt like it was on fire. Yipee. And I felt super drowsy, so, I had to just go to bed...but not my bed, because I'd spent a good few hours cleaning my room in the afternoon, and hadn't made my bed up again yet...Joy. So, since Mum's still away, I used her bed instead. HA.

It meant I was going to bed without doing my daily blog post. I was tempted to do it quickly, but there was just no way it was gonna happen. I had taken photos yesterday, so at least it wasn't an actual fail. And without further ado here is yesterday's photo...quite similar to one I took last year when the blossom's came out. But I just love it so much, I couldn't resist!

Friday 15 April 2011

Day 104: Super Late Post

Em...I can't believe I'm still awake. The plans for my evening were altered just before I went to make my dinner. It was decided that it was far too nice a night to be indoors, so Iain, Alexander, Isabel and myself headed for the beach. I quickly attempted to make lemon chicken risotto beforehand though...not bad for a first attempt, but it'll be better next time, when made with more love and attention.

On my arrival at the beach, I parked the car, and turned to see this view...I love sunet.
After the banter at the beach was over, I drove Isabel home and headed out to the Smith residence with the lads for some food banter, and educating Alexander in the world of good movies, aka anything with Bruce Willis in it. And when Iain spotted that he'd recorded Coach Carter, it just HAD to go on. He got a little excited. Even decided to change his profile picture on Facebook. CreyC. Heh heh heh.

I had NO idea I was going to be out this late. I didn't know I was capable of being out this late. Ha. And now I must sleep.

Wednesday 13 April 2011

Day 103: All by myself

Mumsy's off to visit GG and GG, aka her parents, my grandparents, and Finlay's great grandparents. So maybe they should be known as PGPGGP and PGPGGP...no? Ok. Anyway. She's away down to Glasvegas for a few days, and I decided to stay at home so I can get the wedding photos edited :D I'm super excited to have the place to myself for a bit. HA. In a totally 'No offence Mum' kind of way! She's totally looking forward to when I go away for a week in May, and again in June, so it's all good.

And technically I'm not actually all by myself, because Richard is here, in the batcave.

Right, I'm away to watch a movie! I've got Masterchef on at the moment...I wonder if Mumsy's watching it with PGPGGP and PGPGGP...still no? Ok. Bye!

Tuesday 12 April 2011

Day 102: Spring time

The trees in my front garden have blossoms on them :) It gave me an idea for a self portrait...the first image above. And then I ended up taking the photo on the right too. My composition is a bit samey in both though. So it doesn't really flooooow as well as it should. I kinda prefer it without the first one...
Or maybe it's even better with just one photo...
Haha. G'night!

Monday 11 April 2011

Day 101: A Special Bench Monday

I know, technically that's a chair not a bench, but some people use washing machines, so it's fine. I had planned to use the bench I have at the side of the garden, and try to do some motion spinney photos with my floaty skirt, with the heart hanging on my washing line...But I'd never realised how much the hedge it's beside sticks out, therefore stopping all hope of someone standing on it, and spinning around...without getting multiple scratches, or losing your balance and falling on to the slippery slabs below(because it decided to rain as I went outside to do this). Neither of those things happened by the way. Came close to it though!

I attempted the spinning photos on the chair...multiple times. But my skirt's not puffy enough and my legs are too lanky tree trunk like for it to be pretty. So I just went for a skirt swish instead. This was no doubt great entertainment for anyone passing in a car, or bus, or walking their dog, or looking out their window. As my back garden is beside a road and slightly overlooked by a few houses. And when I stand on a chair in my back garden, I am most definitely visible to a large area of this side of town!

Anyway! Let's move on to the reason why I have 'Laura' written on a heart chalk board in my photo...it's because I went round to say a quick "See ya later" to my wonderful friend Laura tonight, before she heads home to Lewis tomorrow, and then off to NEW ZEALAND on Friday! She's studying Radiography and is going there on placement for a couple months. Incredible! It's going to be such an amazing adventure, and I'm super chuffed and proud of her for taking this opportunity. So Laura...Have fun! And I'll see you soon :)

Sunday 10 April 2011

Day 100: I thought I was going to have to entertain myself all afternoon...

...and I didn't look too happy about that idea! Haha. All of these photos were taken within 5 minutes of each other, and with a 10 second timer I didn't have much time to figure out my facial expression. HA. Oh dear...But it kinda fits-the plan was to invite folk out for lunch, so Dave and Sarah went to Dave's sister's for lunch. But we ended up not inviting anyone over! So I had no guests, and no gorgeous nephew. I was bored. But happy that it was sunny again at least!

However, while I was putting this masterpiece together, Sarah, having found out that we had no guests, texted to say they were heading to Westburn park in town, so did I want to go in and join them. Of course I did! I put my hire lens on to my camera, to get some more use out of it before it goes back tomorrow, and hopped in the car. And I arrived just in time to see my gorgeous nephew being placed in amongst the daffodils. So cute! And he was joined by his big cousin a while later. Dave's sister Susie is a photographer too, so she was snapping away at the two cuties :) And she'd brought balloons along to get some photos of James walking with them flying in the wind. Unfortunately it wasn't majorly windy, and James is a little genius and knew how to take the strap holding the baloons off his hand. Haha. Balloons are such a great way of making a photo that little bit more exciting, and usually kids LOVE them!

I took this photo of Fin loving the sunshine with his shades and his hat, and Dave holding the balloons up for me! Ha. He's such a little dude. Love love love.
And...have you noticed...I've reach ONE HUNDRED DAYS!! Aaaaagh. Can you believe it?! I feel like I should do some sort of give away or something...haha. Maybe not. We'll save that for when I reach 100 fans on my Facebook page or something. Ha. Hope you've all had a good weekend. I know I sure have! Bennachie on Friday, my first ever wedding yesterday, and a lovely afternoon in the sunshine today, made even more exciting when we bumped in to Jonathan, Lynsey, Anya and Isabel at the park. Not literally.

Life is pretty goooood :)

Saturday 9 April 2011

Day 99: My First Wedding!

I think it's safe to say I LOVE MY JOB. Today was absolutely fantastic! I couldn't have had a lovlier couple to photograph as my first ever wedding couple. Elizabeth and Andrew Stewart are two wonderful people, and I am so so happy that they asked me to be their wedding photographer. It was great being a part of their special day, and I wish them every happiness as they start their new life together.

And to show just how beauitful Elizabeth looked today, here are a few photos...Enjoy!
Elizabeth and Andrew are off to a secret location for their honeymoon, but I'm going to try emailing her to let her see their wedding photos sneak peak!!

Friday 8 April 2011

Day 98: The day they ran up Bennachie...

...while I struggled, simply walking! Ha. Oh dear. I am seriously unfit. Probably because I just drive everywhere these days...to work, to town, to Tesco, to the kitchen. It's pretty shocking. I'm very impressed with the girls for starting out our trek jogging, and eventually, one by one, dropping down to a walking pace. If I'd started out jogging, I'd have probably collapsed after a minute, and gone back to the car to eat the food. Ha. Ok. I'm just gonna get to the photos...definitely plural. I got A LOT of good eens. But no time to put them all up, so I've tried to pick the best...Ha. Here we go!

The girls started with a good stretch...which was greatly amusing, for me! There are a few comedy stretch photos, but we'll just leave it at one...ha. And then there's a before shot...pre sweat and heavy breathing...haha.
We're jumping straight to when we reached the top, because we were all separated on the way up, and I was too busy trying to keep my heart beating to stop and take photos. Har har har...oh dear. It was preeeeeetty windy at the top...so we were risking our lives doing jump photos...and we had to take a few because we couldn't work out how fast the camera counted to 10. Ha.
And now we MUST have some comedy cliff hanger photos...I.LOVE.ISABEL. That is all that has to be said on this.
Obviously I didn't actually kick Katherine off the edge...we all made it back safely to enjoy our delicious picnic! Made up of rolls (3 each), crisps, cupcakes, fruit, juice, and tea! Mmmm. Amazing.

So...thank you ladies for an amazing afternoon :)

Thursday 7 April 2011

Day 97: My sister's a genius!

She has no idea I've done this, but I couldn't resist showing off how absolutely incredible my sister is. You see...she painted that canvas for Fin...I LOVE IT. Finlay has his own boat. I'm a little jealous. He's a lucky boy, having such talented parents (Dave's talent is putting up with my one joke, that will never get old. And he's rather musical).

After more modelling for Rachael this morning, I headed out to Banchory to join Mum and my aunt Anne for lunch at the Morrison residence. Well, I was a little late for lunch, so I ate their scraps basically. Ha. We went out for a wee walk, and Sarah, ever the comedian, was well up for taking some family photos. Those two are the most sensible ones I got. You'll need to look closely at the middle one...they're all there. I love that Dave's hiding behind a proper skinny tree...it's fitting.

I printed off a voucher tonight for a Free Photo Shoot, with Blue Door Photography (woop!), for a raffle that's taking place, at a charity event, on Saturday night in town. That sentence was far too long so I went back and threw in some comma's...they were probably incredibly misplaced! Apologies. I also ordered a few promotional leaflets for this event, and I've thrown in a pile of business cards. So hopefully this'll broaden my client list! Eeek. I now have my first non friend or family client at the end of April. It's very exciting.

And d'you know what's REALLY exciting??...I'm photographing my first ever wedding in less than 2 days now!! Yipee!!

Wednesday 6 April 2011

Day 96: Elton John's Twin

I was attempting to model for Rachael's Uni projects tonight...and while we were between shots, I had a bit too much fun with the accessories...and ended up looking like Elton John. It was fun. I was on my tip toes when taking this photo...as the guy who lived in Rachael's flat before her was obviously SUPER tall and put the mirror up really high. Apparently he has a girlfriend, gutted.

Tuesday 5 April 2011

Day 95: Teeny Tiny Sheep!

While out on a date with my good friend Laura this evening, we decided to sit and eat our Ben & Jerry's ice cream at the cinema bar. There was a quiz going on, something that happens every Tuesday we've now discovered. Anyhoo, the next round, on movies, started just as we sat down...

"Question 1- Which movie connects Julia Roberts, Dustin Hoffman, and Maggie Smith?"

D'you know?! I sure did. It was an exciting moment. The answer is, of course, Hook!! Duh. Amazing.

Good storry, huh.

Monday 4 April 2011

Day 94: Happy Bench Monday!

This is something I discovered last year, and have wanted to participate in. It looked like fun! I have no idea where it originated from...or what it's purpose really is...all I know so far is that it's a laugh, and maybe I'll do another one next week!...dunno why I didn't start it when I started this 365 project. Guess I just never remembered about it on a Monday. Good story. I'll try find out more about this exciting theme...or you could google it yourself if you're that interested...I know some of you are actually going to do it...aren't you!

And here's another photo...just for extra comedy...I didn't realise quite how long my legs were until I had to really really duck to fit in to this photo...hello tree trunks...

Sunday 3 April 2011

Day 92: Happy Mother's Day, Granny!

I love calling Mum 'Granny'.

And of course I have to say Happy Mother's Day to my beautiful sister also, for the first time ever! How exciting. I bought Mum a card, and some special chocolate she likes. But the best part was the mug I got her that said "I love my Mummy" in like crayon kids writing. Amazing. She better use it every day. Sarah and Dave gave her flowers, and a picture of Fin in a frame. Of course.

I wish I could say that Mum sat back and put her feet up all day...but that didn't happen. She wanted to try one of Jamie Oliver's recipes, so took control of lunch as usual. I'm an awful daughter.

I was going to make this post all soppy and cheesy, but I think I'll save you all from that. All I really want to say is I really do love you, Mummy! And thank you for putting up with me for the last 21 years!

Notice how Fin manages to sneak in to every photo. Major attention seeker that one.

Saturday 2 April 2011

Day 92: I love the seaside!

Don't you just love it when Scotland provides you with a beautiful day for visiting the seaside?! Cassia had invited me along last night, and we arranged to meet at 11am this morning. Quite an early start for a Saturday morning, for some people. And when we arrived it was your typical windy, rain splattered day. Nevertheless, we went for a wee stroll to the Fitty. And Courtney spotted dolphins!!! I was super excited. The dolphins never show face when I'm around. So that brightened up my day, completely! If only they were a little bit closer. But hey, baby steps.

We went back along to the beach front and got lunch...well, 3 of us got breakfast. I got pancakes, with bacon and maple syrup. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. So that was another positive for the day. But what was even better, was the fact that the sun came out!! And the sky cleared, mostly. So we went for another walk, threw some stones, took some photos, got some ice cream, went for another walk, threw some more stones, took some more photos. It was great! I could sit and watch the sea all day.

I think I'll build a hut in front of the sea, big enough to fit a bed, and a wardrobe, with an electric power socket for my kettle...well no actually, I can build a fire to boil my water. But I'll need one for my camera battery charger...It'll be a good life.

Oh, guess what...in a weeks time...I'll have photographed MY FIRST EVER WEDDING!! Not MY wedding, obviously. That would be slightly difficult. You know what I mean.

Friday 1 April 2011

Day 91: Starting out with good intentions...ending up at the shops!

When Sarah came through at about 7am this morning she commented that it wasn't looking like a very nice day...I said to give it some time! And right enough, when we headed out at half 9 with plans of going to Stonehaven, it had turned in to a rather lovely day. Until we started getting closer to the coast. Then it began to rain, and the wind picked up. Good times. We drove all the way to Stonehaven anyway, hoping it would clear! But no. So we went for a wee walk, and got some delicious sea air in our lungs...and then decided to go to Union Sq. and get burgers for lunch! Mmmm. So good.

While wondering around the shops (We bought nothing. Impressive, I know.), I commented on how I'm always tempted to try the tanks with the fish that eat you...but it would be incredibly weird/disgusting/embarrassing. Sarah was like "On you go!". So...I took a seat, for 10 minutes...10 really weird minutes. And I made it look SO good, that a group of teenagers havin' a fun day out decided to try it too. Good times.

We headed to Starbucks for a frappuccino and some tea. Yum. Took photos of Fin. Shopped some more. Still bought nothing. Headed home. Took photos of Fin. Bathed Fin. Ate food. Stared at Fin. Made fin giggle. It was a good day!

Apologies to those of you who are completely disgusted at the fact that I let fish eat my feet. I find it highly amusing. They give you a magazine...as if you were at the hairdressers or the spa. Good times. I'm thinking of getting vouchers for friends Christmas's this year.
